I started writing children's books about seven years ago. After years of trying to perfect my writing, I finally got lucky and have been offered a contract to publish. Not just one of the books I've written, but all three. Yeah, it's okay to be shocked. I am. I'm also excited.
It's a small publisher. No advance. But it's okay. I'm going for it with ghusto. I'm going to make my books work. I want to wow my readers- kids/teens.
Between the three books, I've experienced 15 rejections from publishers. Agents, that's a higher number of rejections. I still don't have an agent and am thinking I'm going to do without one for now.
There's a lot of work to do before the books go to press next year. A LOT of editing and revising need to be done.
My ideas are good. Plots and worlds I've created are unique. Characters, good. Writing, not so good. Luckily, I have the critique group to continue helping me. I need to figure out how to be a better writer. I feel my skills are so ... bad.
Okay, enough rambling for now.

What a pretty name. Congratulations on the contracts... and three of them, to boot! If I weren't so thrilled for you, I think I would be jealous, but who's got room for that?
